About a Girl

Greetings!

I’m Jennifer Kodros, the creative monster behind RETROSPECTACULAR.  Born and raised with three brothers and a sister, the majority of my childhood was spent in a minivan.  I was bald until I was 2, my first crush was Bret “The Hitman” Hart, my mother gave me a poem about my tone of voice when I was 15 and Buffy Summers is everything I aspire to be.

I love a good book, I love the St. Louis Cardinals, I love the Olympics and I love thunderstorms.  I will forever be a fan of autumn, Shakespeare, puzzles, sarcasm and sparkles.  I hate bullies, goodbyes, pretentiousness and truffles.  I’ve loved, I’ve lost, I’ve laughed and I’ve traveled – but my adventure has only begun.

A midwest girl at heart, Los Angeles has been my home since 2010.  I am currently working with the filmmakers of Brothers at War on the sequel, which puts an honest frame around the men and women serving our country.  I am making my way through the Groundlings training school and am in the midst of writing a YA urban fantasy series (see About Books).  My writing partner and I were creators in Imagine Impact and are managed by DC Wade with Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment.

RETROSPECTACULAR was created in attempt to answer the ridiculously over-asked question WHAT WOULD YOU TELL YOUR YOUNGER SELF?  This can’t be answered off the cuff or in a matter of a few words like most people seem to expect.  With this blog, however, I have all the time in the world to dispense advice, thoughts and ponderings on what I’ve learned over the years.  Heaven knows I never shut up so – prepare the horses!

Thanks for checking out all the words I smashed together!  Sign up for emails and stay tuned for my unabashed thoughts on life.  Remember your manners and moisturize your elbows.
