I’m Jennifer Kodros, the creative monster behind RETROSPECTACULAR. Born and raised in the Midwest with 3 brothers and a sister, the majority of my childhood was spent in a minivan. I was bald until I was 2, my first crush was Bret “The Hitman” Hart, my mother gave me a poem about my tone of voice when I was 15, and Buffy Summers will forever be my idol.
I love a good book, I love the St. Louis Cardinals, I love the Olympics, and I love playing cards. I hate bullies, I hate that time speeds up when I’m having fun, I hate goodbyes, and I absolutely cannot stand truffle anything. I’ve loved, I’ve lost, and I’ve traveled but my adventure is hardly over.
I’ve called Los Angeles home for over 6 years now. I’m taking improv classes at Groundlings, on book #2 of a YA urban fantasy trilogy (see About Books), and am determined to keep sarcasm a skilled art despite the lack of tone in modern day communication.
RETROSPECTACULAR was created in attempt to answer the ridiculously over-asked question WHAT WOULD YOU TELL YOUR YOUNGER SELF? This is not a question that can be answered on the cuff or in a matter of a few words like most people seem to expect. With this blog, however, I have all the time in the world to dispense advice, thoughts, and ponderings on what I’ve learned over the years…which is the type of time needed for a question of such gravity!
Thanks for checking out all the words I smashed together! Stay tuned for my unabashed thoughts on life…and remember to moisturize your elbows.
